China Jan–Jul 2026 Trade Hits Record 30.13 Trillion Yuan; IC Exports Surge 116.6% in July

A Historic Seven Months

China's total goods trade reached 30.13 trillion yuan in the first seven months of 2026, up 17.3% year-on-year — the first time the January–July cumulative total has surpassed 30 trillion yuan, customs data showed. July alone recorded 4.66 trillion yuan in trade, growing 19.2% year-on-year and marking the fifth consecutive month above the 4-trillion-yuan mark.

Trade Structure: Higher Value, Faster Growth

  • Total Jan–Jul trade: 30.13 trillion yuan, +17.3% YoY
  • Exports: 17.44 trillion yuan, +14% YoY
  • Imports: 12.69 trillion yuan, +22% YoY
  • General trade: 18.13 trillion yuan, +10.2% YoY
  • Processing trade: +26.3% YoY
  • Bonded logistics: +40.8% YoY
  • Belt & Road partners: 15.36 trillion yuan, +15.5% YoY

Integrated Circuits: A Standout Story

China's integrated circuit exports grew 116.57% year-on-year in July 2026 alone, continuing a red-hot streak. Cumulatively, IC exports reached 777.97 billion yuan (~$216.2 billion USD) in the first seven months, up 91.6% year-on-year — nearly doubling and reflecting China's rapid semiconductor self-sufficiency drive.

Why It Matters

The trade data confirms that China's external sector is a structural growth engine, with mechanical and electronic products — at 11.12 trillion yuan in exports, up 21.2% — forming the backbone. The IC surge underscores how industrial upgrading and supply chain resilience are reshaping China's export profile.
