China approved 1,529 overseas exhibition projects in the first half of 2026, according to data from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The figure reflects Beijing's sustained push to help Chinese firms maintain and expand international market presence, even as global trade conditions remain complex.

The CCPIT said the programme would continue to prioritise markets along the Belt and Road Initiative and emerging economies in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America.
